Let’s restore!

There is growing concern that the existing approaches to restore the Earth’s ecosystems are not at the scale and speed needed to effectively address biodiversity loss, climate emergency, and rural poverty. Therefore, we need to drastically alter our restoration strategies. We currently have more than 2 billion hectares of degraded land globally, and only a fraction is being regenerated as you read these lines.

Recognizing the change needed, our mission is to assist with the incubation of landscape restoration projects around the world. We see our role as an organization to help identify degraded land, connecting different stakeholders and provide connections to financial and scientific institutions that are engaged in the recovery of ecological systems.

We are officially aligning our missions with the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030) and the Bonn Challenge, supporting the recovery of the Earth’s atmosphere, biodiversity, and land (UNFCCC, CBD, UNCCD).

Over the course of many years, we have worked together with numerous of the leading international organizations in the field, as well as dedicated NGOs and public initiatives, big and small. Being situated with our main office in Bonn, we welcome the exploration of synergies with existing initiatives or the support of newly emerging ones.
